Privacy Policy
Last updated on October 26, 2026
In short, we don’t collect any data. Fluxo Reader has no server, no Fluxo Reader account, no ads, no usage analytics and no tracking. Your data stays on your devices, on your FreshRSS server if you use one, and in your iCloud. It’s only sent to an artificial intelligence provider if you have explicitly allowed it.
1. Data we collect
None. Fluxo Reader doesn’t send any data to the publisher (Fluxo Reader). We have no access to your credentials, subscriptions, articles or how you use the app.
2. Your FreshRSS server
FreshRSS is optional. If you use it, Fluxo Reader connects directly, and only over HTTPS, to the FreshRSS instance you enter.
- Your credentials (the server address, username and API password) are used to get a sign-in token. The password isn’t saved. The token is stored in the device Keychain.
- Your subscriptions, categories, articles and reading states (read, starred) are exchanged with your server. A copy of your articles is kept on the device for offline reading.
How your server handles this data is up to the person who runs it.
3. Article websites
When you open an article in reader mode, download an article for offline reading or display its images, Fluxo Reader loads the page or images directly from the original website. As with any web visit, that site receives your IP address and technical details of the request. Its own privacy policy applies.
4. iCloud
If iCloud is turned on, Fluxo Reader syncs the following between your devices, using Apple’s iCloud key-value storage.
- Your smart folders (names, keywords and settings).
- The appearance of your categories.
- The number of articles kept on the device.
- In local mode (without FreshRSS), your subscriptions, your categories and the reading states of your articles (read, starred). An article marked as read on one device is read on the others, and a starred article is never lost.
This data is stored in your iCloud account under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We have no access to it.
5. Artificial intelligence and translation
Summaries, translations and folder digests are optional and only run when you ask for them.
- With Apple Intelligence and Apple Translate, processing happens on the device, under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Third-party providers (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Mistral) are only used if you choose one of them, enter your own API key and accept the permission prompt, which is shown once per provider. Without that permission, nothing is sent. Once you’ve allowed sending, when you ask for a summary or translation, the title and text of that article, along with the instructions needed, are sent directly from your device to the provider, with your API key. Requests contain no conversation history and don’t go through any Fluxo Reader server.
Each provider handles this data under its own terms, OpenAI (requests are sent with storage turned off, through the “store” option), Anthropic, Google, Mistral AI.
Your API key is stored in the device Keychain. Deleting it also removes the permission.
6. Notifications, widgets and purchases
New-article notifications are created locally by the app during background refreshes. They aren’t push notifications and don’t go through any server. Widgets read data that the app saves on the device, in a storage area shared between the app and its widgets.
Fluxo Reader Pro is bought on the App Store. Apple handles the payment, and we receive neither your payment details nor your identity. The app checks the purchase on the device, with the App Store.
7. Retention and deletion
All Fluxo Reader data stays on your devices, your FreshRSS server or your iCloud. Here’s how to delete it.
- In Settings > Account, “Sign Out” erases the token and the local article cache. In local mode, your subscriptions stay in iCloud.
- In Settings > AI provider, “Delete” erases the key and the provider permission.
- In Settings > Offline, you can clear the cache of downloaded articles.
- Deleting the app erases its local data.
- Data synced to iCloud, local-feed subscriptions included, is managed in your device’s iCloud settings.
8. Security
Connections to the FreshRSS server and AI providers are encrypted over HTTPS. The token and API keys are stored in the Keychain. The local cache is protected by the system’s file encryption.
9. Children
Fluxo Reader doesn’t collect any data, including from children.
10. Changes
We’ll post any change to this policy on this page, with the update date.
11. This website
This site uses no cookies and no visitor analytics. Its host, Vercel, logs technical connection data (IP address, date, page requested) to run and protect it. See the legal notice.
